Peter Piper Picked a Peck of Pickled... Planets?
Simple Solar System Sandbox » Devlog
What's New
- You can now open a menu and choose a specific planet to spawn a copy of when right clicking
- The simulation auto-pauses when this menu is open
- All planets are present
- The ability to spawn the default Celestial Body is still present. In the future, this will be expanded upon to create and save custom planets, but remains now as a placeholder.
- The simulation auto-pauses when this menu is open
- Selecting planets now highlights their trail, helping visibility when trails overlap
- Selecting also shows the area in which they exert gravity on other celestial bodies.
What's Changed
- The game is now called "Simple Solar System Sandbox" as opposed to "Shitty Solar System Sandbox"
- Less degrading of my own work, makes me feel better
- The length of a bodies trail is now calculated based on their speed, and distance from the sun.
- The horizontal line now resizes when the camera zooms out in order to remain visible
- The AU text does not, as they would quickly overlap each other. Perhaps in the future?
- Clicking on and moving the Game Speed slider will no longer deselect the currently selected planet
- Replaced all sprites with PNGs of the planets
- The Simulation can now be manually paused using the Escape key...
- ...And it can also be restarted by pressing R
What's Fixed
- Fixed a bug where spawned celestial bodies would not interpolate when the timeScale is low, because they never had a flag set.
- Added the missing D in "sanbox" in the opening text
- Re-Anchored a bunch of UI. Probably still missed some.
